Bio

Armin RuddArmin Rudd, Principal at AB Systems LLC, is an engineering consultant, expert witness, researcher, and inventor. He conducts design, analysis, and inspection of building mechanical systems and building enclosures. His main activities focus on residential and commercial building space conditioning, moisture control, and indoor air quality. Mr. Rudd has experience as a subject expert in arbitration and court. Some highlights of Mr. Rudd’s work have included: guiding production homebuilders and HVAC contractors through transitions from standard to high-performance product; researching and developing HVAC system products and designs with a focus on ventilation and dehumidification; and research-based code changes related to unvented attics and crawlspaces. Mr. Rudd has fourteen U.S. patents related to HVAC controls and metal-wood structural framing components. He received the Distinguished Researcher Award in 1997 from the University of Central Florida, Institute and Centers.  He is a frequent presenter at national conferences, and has published numerous peer-reviewed technical papers, reports, and guidance documents. He is a member of the ASHRAE Standard 62.2 residential ventilation committee.

Armin Rudd, Principal at AB Systems LLC, is an engineering consultant, expert witness, researcher, and inventor. Focusing on advanced building systems, his main activities are in residential and commercial building space conditioning, moisture control, and indoor air quality. He previously served as a buildings consultant and researcher at Building Science Corporation for 14 years, and at Florida Solar Energy Center/University of Central Florida for 12 years. With an educational background in mechanical/energy engineering and construction, Armin has over 30 years in the field of buildings research and consulting with a wide range of experience in residential, commercial, institutional, and industrial buildings. Armin has authored many technical publications. He is a regular presenter at national conferences, and has been issued 14 U.S. patents.
